Rules and privacy

How Sonic Index works, what the site keeps about you and how to have it deleted. In force from 29 September 2026.

Rules

  • Sonic Index is an unofficial fan project. Sonic the Hedgehog and related trademarks belong to SEGA; the site is not affiliated with SEGA or with the channels' creators.
  • Channel figures — subscribers, views, videos, pictures — come from YouTube's public data and may lag behind. Topics and marks are set by moderators.
  • One person, one account. A new account's vote joins the community ranking after 3 days.
  • Gaming the ranking is not allowed: second accounts, bots, paid votes. Such votes are not counted, and the accounts may be blocked.
  • Suggested channels and edits are checked by moderators, who may adjust or decline them.
  • Tier names, suggestions and edits must not contain insults, harassment or other people's personal data. Such content is removed.
  • The site is provided as is: we try to keep it available and accurate but cannot promise it. These rules may change; the date at the top says when.

Privacy

  • For an account the site keeps the e-mail address, nickname, the profile picture from the sign-in service (if you signed in through one), role on the site, the dates of sign-up and of the last visit — and what you do yourself: your tier list, suggestions and edits.
  • Signing in with Google, Discord, Twitch or X, the service gives the site your e-mail address, name and profile picture. The site never receives your password for that service.
  • Sonic Index passwords are kept by Supabase in a form the password cannot be recovered from; the site never sees them.
  • Accounts and the site's database are kept with Supabase; the site itself runs on a SpaceWeb server. Letters — address confirmation and password reset — are sent by an e-mail service.
  • Only your nickname and profile picture are ever shown to others, and only on a tier list you chose to sign. The picture loads straight from the sign-in service's server. Your e-mail address is never shown.
  • Cookies: signing in, the site's language (for a year), and short-lived ones while signing in through a service or resetting a password. Filters, the theme and an unsent tier list stay in your browser. There are no ads and no visitor counters.
  • Your data is not sold or shared with anyone other than the services above, which the site cannot work without.
  • To delete your account, write to info@sonic-index.com from that account's address. The account goes with its e-mail address, nickname and picture; your vote stays in the ranking without a name, unless you ask to remove it too.
